Resource shortages are one of the biggest progression walls in Kingshot, especially if you are free-to-play or low spend. While playing daily and testing different systems, I discovered that a simple decree timing mistake can cost millions of resources every month.
This post explains the exact method I now use to maximize daily resource income using decrees, along with additional free-to-play strategies that consistently keep my account growing without spending money.
The Common Decree Mistake That Wastes Resources
Most players are familiar with the Rush Job decree. It can be activated once every 24 hours and instantly grants five in-game days worth of resources from your town’s production buildings.
At first glance, Rush Job looks amazing. When I used it alone, I received roughly 1.5 million resources from my level 27–29 industry buildings. However, this is where most players unknowingly lose a massive amount of value.
The Correct Order: Productivity Day → Rush Job
The key decree that changes everything is Productivity Day. This decree doubles the output of all resource-producing buildings for one in-game day and stacks directly with Rush Job.
After testing both methods across multiple days, the difference was dramatic:
- Rush Job alone: ~1.5 million resources
- Productivity Day + Rush Job: ~2.5 million resources
That extra 1 million resources per day adds up to roughly 30 million additional resources per month just from issuing decrees in the correct order.
Why Urgent Mobilization Does NOT Work Here
Another decree, Urgent Mobilization, increases resident work time. I tested this alongside Rush Job, but it does not increase the resource payout.
The reason is simple: Rush Job is based on building production values, not resident work duration. Since Urgent Mobilization does not modify production values, it does not stack with Rush Job.
Fixing Mood Loss with Festivities
Productivity Day reduces resident mood, which can cause concern for newer players. The solution is straightforward: issue the Festivities decree afterward.
Festivities restores mood and comfort, keeping your town stable while still benefiting from the resource surge. I treat this as a reward for my residents after pushing them to work harder.
Free-to-Play Resource Habits That Actually Work
Beyond decrees, I’ve found that free-to-play progression in Kingshot depends on consistency rather than speed.
- Never let stamina sit at max — always clear beasts and terrors
- Run intel missions daily for hero shards
- Gather constantly with boosts (50% gathering speed for 250 gems is extremely efficient)
- Focus research on Growth for construction, training, and healing speed
With proper gathering and boosts, I consistently pull in large amounts of resources daily without spending money.
Town Center Progression for Free-to-Play Players
Because speedups are limited, town center upgrades should always be your priority. I upgrade supporting buildings while the town center is upgrading rather than rushing everything at once.
Understanding prerequisite order (barracks, range, stables, academy, and embassy) helps prevent wasted resources and downtime.
Event Strategy: Save, Then Push
One mistake many free-to-play players make is pushing every event. Instead, I save resources and speedups and only push during high-value events like Hall of Governors.
Saving for the right moment yields far better rewards than placing low on multiple leaderboards.
Hero and VIP Focus Without Spending
Free-to-play hero options are limited, so I focus heavily on epic commanders that remain useful long-term. I avoid spreading resources across too many heroes.
For VIP, my target is level 7. Reaching VIP 7 provides a daily mythic hero shard and is the best stopping point without heavy spending.
Final Thoughts
The biggest lesson I’ve learned in Kingshot is that small optimizations compound massively over time. Simply issuing Productivity Day before Rush Job has transformed my resource economy.
If you are struggling with upgrades or feeling resource-starved, try this decree order for a few days and track the difference yourself. The gains are very real.
If you discover additional optimizations or notice changes after updates, feel free to share your experience in the comments.
