Best Way to Earn Coins in Chicken Gun (Tested Game Modes)

Chicken Gun offers multiple game modes, but not all of them reward coins equally. Many players debate whether Racing, Duel, or Tanks TF is the best way to farm coins. Instead of guessing, I tested the most popular game modes myself and tracked the average coins earned from each one.

This article is based on my own gameplay experience across multiple matches in each mode. Coin rewards can vary depending on performance, placement, bugs, and match duration, so the numbers below should be treated as realistic averages rather than guarantees.

The gameplay tests and results discussed in this article are recorded in the video below for transparency and comparison.

Racing Mode – Surprisingly Consistent

Racing mode was the first game mode I tested. While it sometimes suffers from bugs such as lap counter issues on certain maps, the coin rewards are actually quite strong when you place well.

  • 5th place finish: ~58 coins
  • 1st place finish: ~79 coins
  • 1st place on a long map: ~144 coins

Longer racing maps clearly reward more coins, likely because of longer match duration. Despite occasional bugs, Racing mode performs well for steady coin farming.

Verdict: Good rewards overall, but bugs can be frustrating.

Plant Bomb Mode – Fun but Terrible for Coins

Plant Bomb mode is enjoyable to play, but it is easily the worst option when the goal is earning coins.

  • Win with top score (~160): ~15 coins
  • Loss with second place: ~5 coins

Even strong performance or winning the match results in very low coin rewards. This mode is best played for fun rather than farming currency.

Verdict: Worst mode for coin farming, but still enjoyable.

Elite Squad Mode – Best Coin Farming Method

Elite Squad mode turned out to be the most efficient way to earn coins. By using a fast completion method, the stage can be cleared quickly with very consistent rewards.

The strategy I used involved grabbing the car behind the wall, climbing onto it, and flying directly to the helicopter to finish the mission as fast as possible.

  • Match 1: ~83 coins
  • Match 2: ~83 coins
  • Match 3: ~83 coins

The coin rewards were identical across multiple runs, making this mode extremely reliable.

Verdict: Best overall mode for fast and reliable coin farming.

Duel Mode – Decent but Inconsistent

Duel mode can provide acceptable coin rewards, but it is heavily affected by bugs and matchmaking issues.

  • Win: ~25 coins
  • Second win: ~25 coins
  • Bugged loss: ~7 coins
  • Later win: ~25 coins

When matches work properly, Duel mode is decent. However, bugs can drastically reduce earnings.

Verdict: Acceptable, but unreliable.

Tanks TF Mode – Middle of the Pack

Tanks TF mode sits in the middle when it comes to coin rewards. Placement matters, but even mid-rank finishes provide reasonable earnings.

  • 8th place: ~35 coins
  • 3rd place: ~50 coins
  • 5th place: ~47 coins

Verdict: Average rewards with decent variety.

Final Ranking – Best to Worst for Coins

  • Elite Squad (Best)
  • Racing Mode
  • Tanks TF
  • Duel Mode
  • Plant Bomb (Worst)

Final Thoughts

If your goal is to earn coins efficiently, Elite Squad mode clearly stands out thanks to its fast completion time and consistent rewards. Racing mode is a strong second choice, especially on longer maps, while Plant Bomb should be avoided if you are focused purely on farming currency.

These results are based on my own gameplay tests and observations. Future updates or balance changes may affect coin rewards, so results may vary over time. If you have tested different strategies or noticed changes, feel free to share your experience in the comments.
